Day One. I Have Set the Bar Seriously Low.

Today, after leaving work, I found myself in a bit of a hurry, as I had to get home and meet the maid, the first maid to service my kitchen for almost eleven (11) long years. Those years have been hard on the floors. And, no, there are no photos. I have a modicum of shame.

So lunch. Lunch was <ahem> the Krystal drive through. I ordered a number 4 (for those keeping score at home, this consists of five (5) Cheese Krystals, an order of chili cheese fries, and choice of a beverage). This was done sober. Not an ounce to drink.

Once home, I dispatched the burgers forthwith and picked at some of the chili cheese fries. The concept far exceeded the reality.

The good news: now that I have this blog, there's an impetus to eat at some fabulous places, so a few friends and I have reservations at Shaya on April 5th. Reservations two weeks in advance for a Tuesday lunch. And yes, the place is that good.

It is now five p.m. and my maid has almost finished cleaning the kitchen. She's at the last step: the floors. My kitchen floors are yellow bamboo. I have not mopped them in five years. Here's hoping for a miracle.
